Three Suitcases

Three suitcases. My life fits in three suitcases. And let’s be honest, I probably could get rid of some of that too.

So tomorrow is the day that I’ve been avoiding for weeks. Tomorrow is the day I board the plane heading back to the States. Still know it’s the right decision. Still dreading starting over again. And now my life fits in here. It’s portable to the extreme.

I don’t know how I feel about this. Most of the time I think it’s a good thing. Being easily mobile is a good thing in the missionary life. But I’m going to the good ol’ U.S.A where it’s not the land of minimalism. I have no small amount of anxiety about setting up life from 3 suitcases. I also have no small amount of anxiety about feeling like I have to have more than the three suitcases worth of stuff.

This transition is going to be a wild ride.

Understanding the sadness & anxiety (somewhat). Excited to hopefully see you again. We have moved to a condo – downsizing for “old-age” folks.

Continue to lean into the Lord & the guidance of His Holy Spirit. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with this difficult transition. Love, Melissa

Praying your path will be wide and straight as fix your eyes on the Lord! Keep those bags light and portable so you’ll always be ready to say “yes”. Your simplicity and obedience inspires me!
