About Me

The journey that has led me to Cape Town began many years ago. I wasn’t out of high school before I knew God was going to call me to do something in my life. That thought remained with me, never far from my mind. But I didn’t have any direction, I was just following one step at a time.

Foreign missions…surely God wasn’t planting that seed in my brain. For years that was the thought I had. It became something I thought about more and more but always doubted I had what it takes to do something like that for God. Long before I admitted it to myself and even longer before I admitted to others, I knew that this was the cliff God was going to ask me to jump off.

Someone wiser than me helped me make the decision to go back to school to help find that direction. I began an online program to receive a Masters in Christian Studies in January of 2011. Six months in, with much more Bible study than I had ever done before, there was no doubting and no running anymore. I had no idea when or where God was going to call, but I now knew what my answer would be.

I’ve done missions in many areas and many ways both locally and around the world, but what I have always enjoyed the most was just being the hands and feet of Jesus. Showing His love by doing for others in need.  Enter Living Hope in Cape Town, South Africa.

Within a few short days of being there, it felt like home. And it’s an organization that does just that…be the hands and feet of Jesus. Their mission is based on Matthew 25:35-40 “For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited Me in; naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me…to the extent you did it to even the least of these you did it to Me.”

Here I will be able to use my skills as a physical therapist to bring hope and healing where it is not well known, but most importantly, it is where I am assured God is telling me to go.
